I went to characters. People might not notice but it's the characters that set the impact for viewers. We can become attached to some characters for example because they're the ones who provide a satisfying story.

I voted for everything that was important to me. So everything except graphics.

I agree. The characters are what brings life to Halo. Without the characters, Halo would be just like any other game. In my point of view, the Campaign is much more than the achievements. It's what makes the gamers want to come back for more. It connects with the gamers so it makes them feel like that they're part of the Halo universe.

Just read about it. Maybe Halo's roots come from Marathon.

They did, haha. It's really similar. This is how the story goes.

It starts out with a UESC (UNSC) ship being attacked by aliens called S'pht (Elites) and Pfhor (Brutes). You are Recon Number 54 (Master Chief). Your arsenal is the Assault Rifle, Pistol, Energy Pistol, Shotgun, and Rockets. Most of which look fairly similar to their Halo counterparts. Eventually the S'pht rebel against the Pfhor in Marathon 2 and help the humans. Then you start fighting robots (totally not Sentinels ) and there is this ancient race of beings called the Jjaro (Forerunners).

I read that Marathon was really never "big" within the gaming community. Is that true? Even though it was during the time I was born, I could have probably still heard lots about it—which I never did because I only know a bit about it.

I don't hear many gamers talk a lot about Marathon.

Graphics have never been important to me, hence why I still play Halo CE and H2 Vista. Music is the most important for me aswell as the campaign. But I do love the multiplayer.D

It was the start of Bungie's big career. Marathon, Myth, and Oni. It was actually fairly popular at the time, but it started out mainly as a Mac game.

It still has a following similar to Halo PC on a fan forum somewhere. You can get Marathon 2: Durandal on the XBL Arcade or download all 3 for free on your PC. http://source.bungie.org/

Thanks for the links. Although all Bungie's games [including gnop] were a success, I got to admit that Myth II was the most memorable one. I never actually tried it but it was the installer bug that made it memorable. It almost cost Bungie about a million dollars. LoL

The dev's should definitely not focus on graphics or campaign. Just make a nice clean multiplayer game similar in quality to Battlefield 2.

I agree, but a campaign would be really cool. Possibly having to do with the Spartan program or the precursors.

I hope the music is good though, I sometimes judge a campaign by it's music and from the looks from it, the game's going to be awesome.
