a game goes throw about five stages
first is the concept and research.
what will the game feel and look like.what game mechanics it will feature
then characters, game modes, then the story, where it takes place etc
look at other games see what they did what you can improve on.
making concept art and making models etc
second stage is prototyping
trying to finger out what works and what don't work
testing levels and weapons etc
making sure the game is nice and balance.
making cuts, putting in new stuff etc
by then we get to stage 3 alpha
now in alpha not all game mechanics will stay.
there game levels will be made, the network for multiplayer will be check and fined
people will most likely be able to play alpha.
now stage 4 beta
beta is to for players to find bugs, for the developer to know what parts of the game needs twining. also to balance the game modes, weapons, testing the maps etc
now the final stage is 5 shipping
sending off to a gamestop or sending it to steam or onlive
the game will be sent to a store or an online store like steam.
could also be sold on the company's website, throw pay-pal or debit which the user will have to do an agreement.
i made this so people can understand the process of making a game or an indie game.
so i hope this helps.
