Yeah I agree, Halo is Halo. Halo is good.1st LT Knadan wrote:Ehh, although the similarities to CoD kinda worry me, I'll wait 'till I know more. As for it not being Bungie, I don't care, it's Halo, and that's good enough for me.

Not the response I was hoping for , but ok. It won't be posting directly to the sovereigngamestudios community but I guess that's cool.

Hey,
Just a question, is this temporary or is this permanent? [just because you said "for now" and I wasn't sure] Also, if this is permanent, what should we talk about then if not Halo 4? LoL [since there's no details on your project yet, we can't really talk about it much]
Thanks.

Because it is? The class system is exactly the same, along with the progression system. Even the names are unoriginal.Jony wrote:1st LT Knadan wrote:Ehh, although the similarities to CoD kinda worry me, I'll wait 'till I know more. Why do people keep saying it's like CoD O_O

Well, a while ago I do actually remember someone saying Halo: 4 will have something like perks. Was a while ago.Jony wrote:LH Justin wrote:It's temporary.theastromechdroid wrote:LH Justin wrote:For now please keep all Halo 4 discussion on this topic. The topics are clogging up our forum.

It's future, new graphics, new weapons,New amazing story,Halo have no perks etc. Halo 4 will not have perks etc. CoD is different.
Anyone who told you that is either a fool, or quite, quite mad.

Perks aren't the only thing making it like CoD though. There's the fact that everyone has sprint, "Spartan Ops", leveling up gives you an advantage over newer people...
I know you can sprint in real life, but having it as something you can do in a game is (mostly) a CoD thing. At least Reach had it as armor ability, which was nice, but made no sense.Jony wrote:Kusa 'Aezotee wrote:Well, a while ago I do actually remember someone saying Halo: 4 will have something like perks. Halo have sprint, and then It's CoD. I hope people understand Sprint is not from CoD...It's from real life. I may sound like little fanboy kid, but I just hate when people think It's CoD. Spartan Ops... I don't know about that.

I mean it made no sense because anybody can sprint, you don't need an armor ability to do it, which is probably one of the reasons 343i is adding it into Halo 4.Jony wrote:Kusa 'Aezotee wrote:I know you can sprint in real life, but having it as something you can do in a game is (mostly) a CoD thing. Made no sense? They were Spartan-IIIs, and maybe UNSC used those only during Battle of Reach. There's many games which had sprint before Mw1
LH Justin wrote:Jony, I know it's hard to swallow, but they are outright copying CoD.
1.) Armor Abilities are the equivalent to perks.
2.) You can change both your primary and secondary weapons in Halo now, which CoD did first.
3.) You can also choose your grenade type now, which CoD did first.
4.) You can add weapon attachments now, which CoD did first.
5.) You press X to respawn in both games now, which CoD did first.
6.) You can join games in progress now, which CoD did first.
7.) CoD has Spec Ops, now Halo has Spartan Ops.
8.) CoD has CoD Points, now Halo has Spartan Points.
9.) You gain ranks and Spartan Points by winning or losing, just like CoD.
10.) You use Spartan Points to upgrade your cosmetics or weapons/perks, just like CoD.
11.) Sprint is now a standard ability, just like CoD.
12.) You can switch classes any time in a match when you die, just like CoD.
13.) I mean, come on, even Infinity Play sounds like Infinity Ward.
Yes, I realize some of these features are from "real life" or other games, but they were popularized by Call of Duty and it's quite obvious that they're trying to make Halo 4 more like CoD to sell more copies. It's quite a dumb strategy in my opinion however because adding CoD features to a Halo game isn't going to make CoD players want to buy it. The same way adding Halo features to CoD wouldn't make Halo players buy CoD.
All of the testers they have used said the gameplay still feals like halo. And who cares if there making changes outside of the gameplay? Spartan points are the same as credits, which halo alredy has; and Infinity ward and infinity play? Are you really going that far? And who cares if you join in mid game, it's good for matchmaking. If you really want to go that far, if your really that parinoid, than lets go even farther.Noble wrote:LH Justin wrote:Jony, I know it's hard to swallow, but they are outright copying CoD.

I agree. If 343i is going to continue Halo they need to do so in a unique and creative way, especially with the naming of their features. Some of those features however, such as sprinting, I'm fine with.
